They did not take them away. They decided not to add them. Windows 11 is a result of taking Windows 10, adding arbitrary cpu limitation to it, and bolting on a bunch of crap from the cancelled https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10X

Couple years ago there was an outage at Cloudflare and their www.cloudflare.com started pointing to an unrelated 3rd party marketing website, while the dash.cloudflare.com was showing the dashboard.

Google Play has started to hijack apps installed from Fdroid. As the keys don't match the upade fails and is stuck in the updates available notification. In essence breaking manual check for updates, because the button to check for update is the same as show updates.
