B.c in modern society people don't eat enough whole foods, get good sleep b.c of alcohol and other over stimulation, not enough outdoors/consistent movements/exercise, have to be saddled with too much stress etc and end up slowly killing themselves (in unnatural ways) without realizing or potentially caring

Recently cut out cannabis, cbd, coffee and all alcohol and its shocking how different your sleep becomes. There needs to be more research done on stimulant free brains and my theory of how better our brains are at "taking the trash out" at night when not pumped full of quick/easy dopamine.

In order to follow clubs the local HS puts on you have to follow their Instagram account. They put the content/updates nowhere else.
"Need to be on IG dad so I can be active in extracurricular in HS."
Mandate APIs out and this problem goes away so folks can vibe code really simple solutions that keeps you off the site.

I had no idea how to deal with the anxiety I had in the 90s and gollee it had to have been better than the drugs they've have tried to put me on to deal with that
I blame the Ritalin to adderall to wellbutrin train of drugs for most of that but certainly cannabis served a purpose for me and likely kept me "healthier" in ways but its also not a good long term play
I feel "high" now just being sober it's pretty nice

Quit recently after daily use for about 30 years. Took 3 years, and several regiments of hyperbaric therapy, I also took the time to cut out all other stimulants or depressents, alcohol, coffee etc.
Now I stimulate the Vegas nerve in the morning and at night with breathing regiments
Its hard to quit as there is a lot it does for you neurologically like caffeine does but I finally realized it was giving me neuroinflammation and wrecking my sleep quality so I stopped. Likely other long term health problems but those are harder to see/feel.
Now my body does biphasic sleep and I journal at night and read books. Never liked to do either. Get crazy amounts of energy now and people constantly comment on the difference in me.
Goodluck, you can in fact regulate this shit out of your daily habits if you find a way to do a cellular reset. Its not easy.
I quit smoking cigarettes and checked drinking way way easier than cannabis

I hear you there.... too many years on my side paying over priced tools for the agencies, I'm well normalized on monthly subs and you can't compare these things to what we used to pay for. I've dropped 90% of the tools I used to sub to. But like others downstream have said no ones ever going to pay 500 to 1000 month open source models will just eat that margin up and flip the economics so ads it is lol.

I'm not a coder but now work way faster than the coder I pay, stuff breaks but it's tenable and it's easier to get things to completion as the harnesses get better.
Don't give up just keep trying you can truly build personally life changing things. Don't look at it purely from a how do I sell this lense, just empower yourself with these tools while the getting is good

Nothing is completely binary. I've studied stress and one of the other big factors to note is loss of control and what that can do to oneself. It's nice to be able to walk into someone's office and just settle something vs letting it cook and propogate among the many other intracscies from long term wfh. Greatly depends on if your running things I think, working with a team, the type of work you do etc
Stress compounds and hides. Our monkey brains are dumb with long term issues and can easily be masked by substances.
Care to share more on what's worked well for you?

Wfh since long before covid (15 years) . It will 100% burn you out slowly while you think you are better and stronger than it. Feels good at the beginning likely b.c your current job is super toxic and your away from your boss but there are many factors largely due to isolation that will settle in.
To survive wfh you need to concentrate heavily on early morning sunlight, walks throughout the day, yoga, acupuncture, blue light glasses at night time, major attempts to get out and socialize outside of work, creating a safe place in your home for working so you don't mix them together, get out in nature, tend to a garden otherwise aka try really hard not to work after hours and offset the toxicity of wfh.

I marketed on FB before ads, our first client at the social agency I worked at in 08 was nature made supplements. It was fun and interesting at the beginning, then ads rolled in and I got out of it. It turned into something like the neighborhood swimming pool where everyone was swimming in each other's... I could see it and feel it.
Since about 2012 or so I was dreaming of a simple law or something on the books that banned ads in algorithmic feeds. It would be a really easy way to stop us from getting where we are today. It certainly would have slowed down the walled gardens and shittification of the internet.
I deal with teenagers that are on this stuff now and it's a fight, constantly. They hate hearing me go on about it.
What do yall think of Snapchat b.c we just caved and let my daughter use it.
