2. Tesco had a good deal they paid for ahead of time, with the full support cycle detailed in the contract that Broadcom is refusing to honor.

3. Broadcom is arguing that since Tesco is migrating off, they can't sue for damages. Tesco would probably counter argue that the migration is due to Broadcom not honoring the original contract.

employees who will gripe about things like what web browser they use are often not worth the trouble at scale.

Firms who enforce homogeneity through policy are not worth the trouble at scale.

I don't think using a popular web browser is that unreasonable an accomodation.

It's a pain that when you cannot do what you want to do. But it's not your laptop. It's the company's.

But it is my craft, and to be limited to what tools I can use in my craft can decrease the value of my work, and in doing so decrease the company's productivity.

You want to ship every debug utility you will need in every image? Just seems wasteful. What about 3rd party images, you will respin images just to add your preferred toolset?

Add an ephemeral container to an already running pod, for example to add debugging utilities without restarting the pod.

Power generation facilities are typically quoted in terms of Watts, not Watt-hours. From an era where these were fossil fuel or nuclear plants or dams that provided a pretty steady level of energy. It indicates what the generation facility/asset can produce at any given moment, although if rivers run dry hydro output can decrease.

I think the numbers you cite in [0] are in terms of total annual consumption.
