It was literally the king that wanted it as personal venture. Belgium took over because he was very/too bad ( you're right that the governement was involved, I stand corrected).

Healthcare and infrastructure was then build too, but the relation was already scarred and well, it's not easy to reset everything.

If you want to sell in Europe now or in the future to any governement ( city, provence, country, ... ).

It means EU sovereign cloud. That's literally the primary concern.

From the EU side. I think we'll make a cost comparison between the US ( where it's leaders are doing weird shit against the EU and pro Russia) vs China ( who at least gives cheap models and doesn't actually tries to take over an entire European country).

US has too much influence atm. I'm ok with switching between "bullies".

Based on what is he smart? Every objective datapoint says he's an idiot that fails upwards.

The only thing he was successful in, was literally exaggerating and overselling his capabilities ( eg. He directed the apprentice, it's fake)

Depends on the app and how long downtime would take.

Deploying a new docker instance or just restoring the app from a snapshot and restoring the latest db in most cases is enough.

Side note: the bills from cloudflare are much lower than the ones from AWS/Vercel when there's a mistake. The most I saw passing by was 150€, with Vercel and AWS > 10 k.

Ask HN: Agentic AI just makes me sad

I've been automating everything that I do. So basically, I've been reviewing and orchestrating LLM's through an Agent on my codebase/projects

I like developing and it's going well. I don't think there's a choice but to adapt.

But that it reads, acts and writes stuff 100 x faster than a human is very confronting.

Eg. I'm helping a friends son studying dutch and french ( they are from Ukraine). He's 13 years old and genuinely a smart kid.

But I can't stop thinking that, in the end, any effort will be for nothing.

I don't want to share it with any of my friends, since a lot of them have kids. Can't share it with my family, I have awesome neeces and cousins. Can't share my inner thoughts with my regular friend that hears my "hard questions", she has a baby of 2-3 years old.

The entire thing just makes me sad.

Any thoughts?

Note: I'm already aware that there will be an abundance of custom software. That's not the problem.
