Most people don't realize how expressive Claude status lines can be. You can run Doom in them, play minecraft, or take care of your own Tamagotchi pet that feeds on your token usage.

We built a website and API that lets you and your agents discover and install Claude status lines.

It's fully open source.

I'm particularly proud of the LLM security audit system, and that users can charge money for their status lines through open payment protocols (x402 and mpp)

Anyone can register services and APIs. Some people treat x402scan like a leaderboard, and they try and game it in all sorts of ways. We try and keep the "featured" list to resources we know are not boosting their numbers. It's a bit of a cat and mouse game though, and is by no means perfect. There will be false negatives/positives.

This is the final nail for me, that something is rotten in the state of open source.

There's the "old guard" of open source, who seem to spend most of their time arguing about semantics, governance, and the nth kubernetes telemetry solution.

So where is the "new guard"? There's been a lot of interesting work in open source AI, but it seems to me like a championed effort cannot exist without a new paradigm around collaboration and monetization. More and more, we see the new guard question or outright deny new contributors due to AI slop PRs and issues continue to pile up.

There desperately needs to be a sexy revitalization of open source, starting with young developers. I thought it would be from the YC-esque startups of the world, who use open source as a way to garner legitimacy, good will, and a top-of-funnel upselling motion.

"Trad" open source is greying - and the new wave is more of a ripple. It has no shared identity, and no champion.

The problem we kept running into was simple: if you want an agent to use premium data or services, the setup flow is awful.

You have to find the right provider, sign up manually, subscribe, generate an API key, install tooling, and then teach your agent how to use it. Then do that again for the next provider.

We wanted a simpler model: give the agent a universal balance, let it discover available resources, and let it pay per call.

So AgentCash gives agents one balance with access to 280+ paid APIs. It’s built on x402 [0,1] (the Coinbase/Cloudflare payments protocol) and designed to work with tools like Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Cursor, etc.

I also am really proud of our onboarding flow - we actually use AgentCash itself to research you and the decide how much free cash to give based on a score.

The vision for this is to essentially give agents JIT context and tool use capabilities, even when they require payment to use.

We support tons of APIs you are already familiar with, so it's already better at tasks like lead generation, contact enrichment, market research, and much more.

It's an open ecosystem of API providers, so anyone can be compatible by adding x402 support!

That's just sad. I really feel for this author.

On the other, there are many ChatGPTisms, it's not this, it's that, groups of 3 terms, em-dashes, etc.

My thinking is that there was a thorough draft written by a human that then was passed through an LLM and heavily modified. Not that there's a problem with that.

Has anyone found anything useful? Interesting needle-in-a-haystack problem for LLMs to try as well.
