I don't (yet) use AI in the way I am expected to. I have not integrated it into my IDE -- can't be bothered, plus I code in notepad++. Rather I use in a browser and have raging arguments with it over the course of three days about a design. After we come to an agreement I write the code.

A few decades back when I was a PhD student a British university I taught an undergraduate class and I noticed that the quality of writing in their examination papers and projects was clunky and awkward, in contrast to the admirable, free-flowing, everyday style the way they wrote (as they spoke) on their student bulletin boards. I used to wonder why they didn't write like this in their classwork.

Years later, when writing my thesis I'd routinely find myself at a loss of how to communicate a concept. The solution was always to write down my answer to the question "what are you trying to say".

Agreed. This is probably the reason why rewriting in Rust "works" -- because the architecture has been previously worked out.

I WFH 100% of the time. This allows my spouse and I to work. Without this one of us would have to leave the workforce to take the children to school. But because I WFH I can do the school runs and I realize I have it so good, it makes me unwilling to consider any other potential job offers.

And BTW, because I don't have to commute 3 hours like I used to I can now work as late if a task requires me to. So yeah the ability to WFH makes me LOYAL.

In Nigeria, you run the risk of being assaulted by random army personnel for wearing anything remotely military looking e.g. laced up shin-high boots. They simply won't pass up an opportunity to relive anyone of anything of value if they can.

I wonder if prisoners feel the same way.

I think time seems to pass by quickly because as we get older we get busier with family, work, children, spouse, friends, a few side interests etc.
