I gave myself 32GB of swap since SSDs are quite fast and the pages sent to disk seem to intelligently be rarely referenced ones. Feels amazing to run 4 VMs and 12 Claude Code instances on my mid tier hardware

I'd love to see the stats on how many Linux users want this. Most Linux usage probably comes from WSL/SSH'ing into servers, where they would use the CLI instead of a GUI. Even for the people who run Linux on the desktop, most probably prefer the terminal anyways

This was my experience with the editor as well. For about 2 seconds, I admired how clean it was. I then struggled to read anything at all and haven't reopened it since.

(Edit to get ahead of the comments: I'm sure I can change it. Customization is important. Almost as important as good defaults)

As someone who packaged a lot of software for Linux, I have to admit that it's bespoke and forces you to make options that come with pros and cons. But at least it _works_.

Windows? We have 1 in 100 users whose antivirus nukes a random config file. Or part of the installer. MacOS? I hope you bought a Macbook, and don't mind updating your app indefinitely.

Horizon was horribly managed, but also we threw all of our unannounced projects under that umbrella to make it look better for shareholders when we finally cut it. The original LLM research, smart glasses, and a bunch of other projects were under the "Reality Labs" business expense.

Can confirm. I used to hate when people published their code under MIT instead of GPL. But now that I work at a startup that competes with a few open source offerings, I love having Claude check in on their progress and port the content over.

I tried following this page, and it's certainly a lot more complex than what Meta is offering. Different price tiers, opt-in configurations, usage based availability.. I'll take the 10x discount for flipping a param switch over this all day long.

We developed Linux with 1st class support for our desktop app. It was extremely painful due to missing some Webview functionality that is available for both MacOS and Windows, so we're maintaining an entire 2nd branch of UI code to run CEF instead. One of our developers is 24/7 on Linux and basically just fixes Linux bugs, and even they need a couple VMs to try out random (especially old) distros and DEs to make sure it all works.

Anyways, I'm saying this because we expected ~1% Linux users, but we needed something to stand out against our competitors. I just pulled our latest data, and 7.5% of our paying users are on Linux.

I really wanted to like Keychron, but after spending 200$ on one of their high end keyboards, certain keys weren't detecting presses less than a month later. I couldn't end up fixing it so I tossed it out. Felt like a waste

As someone who loves the AUR, I think it's days are numbered. The ROI of infecting Linux users is now there. Flathub's model is slightly better, but I think we're just gonna need more maintainers and an official repo for proprietary binaries
