I'm no expert on UK energy pricing, but the main difference between a boiler and heat pump is that heatpump can be, eg "500% efficient" - a COP of 5. So even if a KWH of energy is 2x the price for electricity a heatpump often comes out ahead.

Heroku does lots of revenue, even if they pay AWS. I do think it would be worth.. quite a bit. And I would be very happy if a better steward would buy it.

Thanks for the reply!
Most of these (also on the alternativeto) are self-hosted, which is different from having heroku do it. Also most only support webservers, while the majority of our servers aren't web..

It really surprises me there isn’t a modern heroku alternative that supports the same.. things.
Like build pipelines, routing included, multiple worker types.
AWS is way less batteries included. And none of the competitors seems to offer the same kind of service, last time I looked.

I liked this idea so much I signed up and linked my personal cc (to my job email) to try it out. Unfortunately, it keeps saying "You must add a credit card to use Sprites with this organization" - even though I just linked a card. No way to continue from there: it's a loop that shows my account with an "activate" button, clicking it shows the error and my account again. Fly.io says I have an account now and it's "in good standing".. :(
