The other sham being perpetrated is advertising some plane engines as running on “automotive” gas. This is BS, because that means only PURE gasoline, not gasohol. I challenge you to find a gas station selling 100% gasoline. I haven’t seen that in decades. So the touted “mogas” is nearly as much of a niche fuel as 100LL.

How many members of the public think that they have to use their E-mail account password as their password for Apple ID and every other amateur-hour site that enforces this dumb rule?

MILLIONS. I would bet a decent amount of money on it. So if any one of these sites is hacked and the user database is compromised, all of the user's Web log-ins that have this policy are wide open.

Then there's the simple fact that everyone's E-mail address is on thousands of spammers' lists. A simple brute-force attack using the top 100 passwords is also going to yield quite a trove, I'd imagine.

Apple IDs didn't originally have to be E-mail addresses. They're going backward.

If you don’t like your tab width, CHANGE IT. That’s a huge win over spaces, where indentation is hard-coded.

This is the one where your MacBook Pro’s screen stops working because Apple ran a ribbon cable through a hinge or some such stupid shit. Been happening since 2016 and still rendering $4000 laptops useless after 18 months of light use.

It doesn’t (or at least didn’t) default to searching for all words used in the title; it only searches for the EXACT string you enter. It was a pain in the ass to even find bugs YOU wrote.

I couldn’t believe how goddamned dumb this is, or the Radar team’s response: Oh, you simply use Oracle syntax and wildcards in the title search! No explanation of how we were supposed to know this, or WHY.

I’d be happy to hear that was fixed.

Then again, I just started using it. So far I'm pleasantly surprised at its UI. After using the detestable UI in GIMP (and the somewhat hokey-looking one in Audacity), I didn't expect much from open source.

There's a reason we hated Flash-based Web sites, and animation was a huge part of it.

Now I'm considering which is worse: animated UI, or transparent UI. The asinine transparent-UI fad largely and deservedly died in the '00s, with the exception of Apple suddenly jumping on its discredited and defunct bandwagon years later.

Don't see why we need to bring back animated UI either, but I'm happy to consider suggested uses.

Speaking of stacked hierarchies, the rotatable 3-D display of views in a UI might be pretty useful. I like that idea.
