Alignment when machining a metal part is clear and measurable. Aligning an AI to benefit humanity has an ironic foundation, which is that very few humans have ever truly been aligned, and those who approximated true alignment likely had moments of not being aligned. We are trying to build something more perfect than us, and we may become extremely lucky but maybe not.

I definitely think they could have made it more sporty, and that might have hit a sweet spot. Personally I love it, and that extreme difference in opinion is exactly why I think it'll be iconic. Also I wonder if you've earned the harsh criticism you spew. I doubt it.

NLP is an important part of upcoming RAG frameworks like Microsoft’s LazyGraphRAG. So I think it’s more like NLP is a tool used when the time is right.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/blog/lazygraphrag-s...

What could you do with a raspberry pi 5 that would interest a four yr old girl? I have a monitor with keyboard and mouse, but open to any ideas tho. Using it as a computer would be nice but if there is some other way to leverage it that would enrich her knowledge, maybe spark an interest in science or math, that would be amazing too. I was thinking making it into a retro game emulator, but then maybe the use case is just too narrow. I don’t want to be strict either way, like “you can play games all day” vs “you must only use educational content!”. Would love to here some ideas ;)

This is something I’m working on, for now in a much more simplified format and still very rough. But I did manage to get team members to be contextually aware, so they know they team and everyone’s details. They can even search through chat threads with any given team member.

I'll be honest, it hurts me to see people shit on something, likely because of the sentiment towards NFTs at the moment. It's definitely not the first time I've seen a lot of smart people on HN look at things in an off-way. There are bad actors, there are bad actors everywhere with any physical goods as well. I'm just trying to build something I enjoy and others will too. That something happens to use NFTs.

Hi, I made a Naikan journaling app. What is "Naikan" you ask? Quite simply, it's a method of introspection via three simple questions from Buddhist philosophy:

What have I received from ____?
What have I given to ____?
What troubles or difficulties have I caused ____?

The "____" part can be a person, place or thing. Basically, I'd love to know if Naikan journaling increases your gratitude, happiness or mental health in any way. It does for me.
Please, check out my app here: https://app.dailynaikan.com/
Note, if you want to know about Naikan, I translated the "About Naikan" section from the Japan Naikan Association's website: http://www.jpnaikan.jp/for everyone/index.html
Naikan is a method of self-observation/introspection developed my Yoshimoto Ishin, and is based on the mind/spirit self-improvement practice called Mishirabe. As a mind-body therapy in the medical field, it's generally used for self-enlightenment and resolving troubles or worries, as well as being used more broadly across enterprise and business training, school education and corrective education. The Mishirabe practice of mind/spirit self-improvement was originally handed down from the Pure Land school of Buddhism, however Yoshimoto Ishin set out to exclude any religious parts of the practice, simplify it, and make it widely available to anyone. Later, in 1968, Ishin established the three current questions central to Naikan ("What has been done for me?", "What have I done in return?", "What troubles have I caused?"). In Naikan, there is "Intensive Naikan" that lasts a week and focuses on a fixed scope, and there is "Daily Naikan" which is occurs for short periods within daily life. Although Naikan is used practically for various purposes, as a treatment for illness and disease especially, it's referred to as "Naikan Therapy".
Finally, a helpful article about Naikan can be read here: https://tricycle.org/magazine/naikan-therapy/
Thank you

According to the facebook post:
> We don’t want people to be deceived by these web addresses, so we’ve taken legal action.
This particularly hypocritical and infuriating given facebook stance on horribly misleading and deceptive political advertisements on their platform. I hope this hypocrisy results in facebook eventually being sued.
