At this point you gotta pick and chose your morality
Claude is screwing people on credits and tokens
OoenAI is selling three molecules left of your privacy to the government
Are those three molecules worth fighting for when your budget is really tight or you are unemployed? Everyone has different priorities

You teeth are literally being pushed to a new position. So if you dont use the braces for the "minimum" duration, you teeth may not be in a place where they need to be for the second set of braces to start working. So your 2nd braces are going to be pushing more and that might cause damage to your teeth/gums. Think of it like trying to do splits. If you have never done them ever before and you try to do them on your first try, then you gonna break whatever you have down there. But if you keep at it then day by day you will notice progress. The braces are like that. Each one eases you into the next stage if that makes sense.

I built a simple joke tool to analyze all the rejection emails (over 1600) that I got during the recent job searches and create simple bar graphs from it. Wrote a blog about it https://github.com/khante/l here https://rohankhante.substack.com/p/thank-you-for-your-applic....
PS - The results are entirely obvious.

Referrals are also getting games. If your company has a referral bonus, then I promise you pretty much every single referral you have looked at, is from a guy who DIDNT know the guy. I applied to 20 Big Tech companies last month. All from "referrals". Check out teamblind.com if you don't know (Be careful. The site is like a tech version of 4 chan. Well maybe not THAT bad.) The whole game is messed up.

SDET here. A year ago when AI came into play SDET/QA roles started disappearing. People were like oh ya anyone can write tests. Then with the recent fiascos about outages and what not, I am seeing the SDE roles are disappearing and SDET roles are going back up?! Apparently AI is good at writing applications but you still need someone to make sure it is doing the right things.

See in your case with the military you can directly say, hey my code will be used to bomb other people possibly. But in today's times it isn't (I am sure even then) so cut and dry. I worked in AdTech industry (like 60% of the bay area techies). So the ad tech I write gets shown to millions/billions. What about ads influencing elections and then politicians waging wars? Anti-vax ads which influence people and then kill them. Scam ads. Insurance ads and then people not getting cancer meds from the same insurance. Am I responsible for those deaths? I would say Yes.
But what is the option? I feel each of us wants to draw a line based off of our morality but the circumstances don't allow us to stick to it (still gotta pay rent)
We are all on a Titanic the way I see it. It's just the DARPA guy is gonna sink first. Rest of us are just pretending to be Jack trying to be the last ones to go.

I am not sure about the low hanging fruit. Its not easy to make something robotic more human. Based on personal experience I thought it would be a low hanging fruit for text. Take a simple LLM answer to anything and replace the "-" and "its not x its y" thingy that people almost always associate with LLMs to something else. Guess what? Now those answers sound even MORE robotic. Obviously this was a pet project that I cooked up in less than an hour but the more I tried to make it human the more it became ai

The current job market is tough to crack. So I decided to do some basic analysis of the rejection emails that I have gotten. The script is at https://github.com/Khante/l and a brief write up is at substack.
Just wanted to build something that would put a smile on my face unlike the endless leetcode grinding and applications.
