I can't relate that much to this. Every time I use AI to write code, I'm constantly fighting a feeling on the back of my neck that I need to look over everything it has done and supplement/alter it with my own code. That ick feeling counteracts the dopamine hit of having a working app after a few minutes of vibe coding, and I don't think that's going anywhere anytime soon.
That said, I have experience. I could absolutely see myself falling into this as a junior or even mid level dev. I'd no doubt not feel that feeling on my neck if it wasn't scarred from code review lashings early in my career by knowledgeable mentors.

No, they meant inflated. Cars are quite expensive right now, and dealers are notorious for raking in cash through financing. If they were subsidized, prices would be lower to increase user base, as in the aforementioned dynamic present in the current smart TV market.
I think the inital point was that car manufacturers/dealers are double dipping through initial cost/interest AND data harvesting.

Is there a side by side comparison for their products anywhere? I'd like to compare this to the current 16 specs. And are they planning a "Pro" version of the 16?
I don't have plans to buy a laptop in the near future, but its nice to have this as an option. I like the idea of a bespoke Linux machine I could use.

Something that I struggle with often is wanting to go deeper on some of the topics I see come across the front page on HN, but not knowing a good way to dig a bit deeper than simply looking at comments. HN by design limits how much info can be included in a single entry with good reason (limiting comments before they degrade into flamewars, avoiding non-tech discussion, etc). That's great and it's one of the things that makes HN appealing, but the tradeoff is that it isn't always apparent how to learn more/find more discussion about a topic. How do you personally approach doing research once you have your teeth in something here?
Inb4 use the google/just read reddit/use AI. Those are surface-level, obvious, and usually poor options nowadays.

Friendly spelling correction. Diaries, not dairies. Dairies are where one produces dairy products.
And I'm sorry your mom experienced that weight towards the end of her life.
