You can interact with it via raw TCP, raw UDP, HTTP, email, ssh, ping payload, ping cadence (Morse-style), DNS, or even raw printer commands.

Well, in the day to day use of computers across everyone I interact with, the following problems are very much present and still unsolved (savvy users can address them and transform them into chores; non-savvy users solve some of them by paying money to pospone the issues):

- I don't have any space left on my phone but my laptop has tons of space available. (Addressed by Xanadu principle 13.)

- How do I back up my stuff uniformly across my devices. (Addressed by Xanadu principle 14.)

- How do I share this file with a relative. (Addressed by Xanadu principles 2+4+10+11+12.)

- How do I not get trapped by vendors who want to lock me into their cloud solution. (Addressed by Xanadu principles 1, 2, 3, 15, 17.)

So the problems are very much there, and not improving. If anything, Xanadu was a prescient solution that addressed back them the problems we have today.

It seems that you answered your own question: different keys, different purposes.

Enter is for "execute the focused action". Spacebar is for "operate the button".

Qt: Esc cancels. Tab cancels.

Gtk-4: Spacebar auto-clicks before keyup (probably due to auto-repeat).

Win32: Esc sends Esc to the window. Tab cancels.

Firefox: Esc does nothing. Tab cancels.

So, mileage does vary.

Re. Enter key, that's a different key, so different discussion.

These two interactions should behave identically:

- Hover over a button, press mouse button 1, release button 1.

- Tab over to a button, press spacebar, release spacebar.

Why on-screen buttons are UX'd to behave this way is a logical follow-up question. I'd wager that it gives a means to bail out of the clicking (e.g. by moving the mouse out of the on-screen button before releasing mousebutton 1, or by pressing Esc while having spacebar still depressed).

- Tab to move across fields.

- Left-to-right, top-to-bottom focus.

- Space to toggle togglable stuff.

- Alt-Down Arrow to deploy drop-down stuff.

- Arrows to move around.

- Enter/Esc to accept/discard a modal.

Or maybe I misunderstand the things you call "mouse things".

You could compromise on not-shipping-before-it's-ready.

They are building computer programs that other people can use to then post online maps from old paper sources. For example, from the Sanborn map collection.

Those maps can be browsed as "overlays" on top of other maps, so you can easily compare how several maps show the same places on Earth.

I even suspect that I received sub-par service from some of them, who may have identified me as a "no-tip risk" from the first moment.

I was 8 or 9 years old when the ZX Spectrum +2 arrived home.

I'm seriously considering installing this on an old laptop and giving it to my son when he's 8 years old, together with a hard-copy of a BASIC reference and a few simple programs and games to type in.

Getting a FAT32 filesystem on day 1 is already a huge jump from my childhood experience (loading from tape).

They're already covering the blurring, as well as detecting useful objects in imagery (traffic signs for a start).

which would imply that you could not make available your database available for download under ODbL. Yet you have made it available under that license.

Maybe that part of the article needs further editing?

Also, if the data of your tool is now available under ODbL, then the tasks related to importing it into OSM can be effectively performed by anyone, not necessarily you.

There is no implication that "having incentives" must be interpreted as "considering profit maxxing as the first and foremost goal".
