Another one was when the popular perception was that Obama did more drone strikes than Trump did.
In fact, Trump had authorised more than Obama did. Trump had just stopped the reporting of the drone strikes.

I agree. Netanyahu's strategy of destroying the possibility for the 2 state solution just locks his country into a future of either apartheid, ethnic minority status, or eternal war against ever more sophisticated and hateful enemies.
None are futures he wants. I wonder what the long term vision is? If the Palestinians have a hard enough time they'll just migrate away faster than they have children?

Without Western support Iran and the proxies will choke Israel until either they make concessions to the Palestinians (which can be a very good thing, depending on the concessions demanded), or Israel gets backed into a corner and either really does a genocide, or drops a (hopefully only tactical) nuke.
The most likely best future is when Western support is predicated on making decent concessions to the Palestinians. I'm not in the position to say what they are at the moment but more autonomy for the Palestinian state proposed in Oslo would be a good start.

If the IRA's demands were that the British had to accept enough Irish migration to become a minority in their country (the right of return) somehow I don't think their despicable methods would have paid off.
The difference between the Irish and the Palestinians is the Irish took a real compromise and peace deal. They didn't demand the instant return of Northern Ireland and refuse all compromise to that issue, committing multiple generations to fruitless violence and high death rates.

My fear is that Trump will keep the show going until the end of his term but generally destroy the market's fundamental health and stability. Then a Dem president tries to re-rationalise the markets, they can't handle the correction, there's a crash, and with the backlash the USA is set up for a real spicy government.

>Why the fuck does the colonial power dictate who “gets” land?
Because the preWW2 era was a very different time, the Ottoman Empire that previously held the region lost WW1, disintegrated, and the victors were entitled to manage the breakup and created many states.
They thought it would be a good idea for the Jews to have a go at making a state, felt that they needed one to pursue self-determination considering their historical treatment, and had some very wishful ideas about how well the existing population would react or how partition would go.
The British didn't evict Arabs to move Jews in. (Tenant farmer evictions and the associated legal land purchases aside.)

Because it's useful to leverage capitalist greed to invest in expensive and risky medical research, and have surplus medical capacity paid for by people that have extra wealth and are willing to pay for extra care.
The issues arise when there isn't a sufficient public system taking the bulk of the demand, giving people options and a floor to the quality and utility of the private system.

Nuclear plants will not be built in the timescales these plants demand. No data centre is going to wait 5-10 years for a nuclear plant to be built in the USA, and the modular passively safe designs aren't ready.
I also seriously doubt the ability of the Trump admin to co-ordinate the required reforms and investments in nuclear energy.
Renewables, batteries and gas are probably going to be the only viable option.

And it is not difficult to envisage oil prices increasing to $125 per barrel. It only requires that the conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz last a few weeks longer, say through July 4, or even much sooner, if the combatants increasingly target the region's energy-producing infrastructure."
