As I see it, the current state of graphics API is worse now than the OpenGL era, despite its promises none of the modern API's are easier to use, truly portable and cross platform.
Having to reinvent OpenGL by creating custom wrappers around Vulkan, Metal, DirectX12, etc is such a time waster as dropping strings and going back to raw char arrays in the name of performance on every modern language.

That's why all of the bootlicking wording from employees now makes me puke:
"teamwork" "passionate about my work" "making an impact" "standups" "going above and beyond"... all of that is bs.
Go to work, collect a paychech and leave as early as possible. Reserve teamwork for your group of friends, passion for your hobbies, raising a family or having fun out of work.
And never, ever give them 2 weeks notice. When you find a better job, just walk away and email them when you are at home. Fire the company that will not give you 2 weeks notice for layoffs.

Why this does not surprise me? every attempt to rewrite a working solution to make it more "modern, easy to maintain and future proof" rarely do so. It always end up slower, with more latency and lifted by faster hardware, not by faster software.
Every 20 years a new generation comes weaker, pampered with the abtsractions of the previous generations who did the grunt work for them. After 3 generations of software developers all we have is library/framework callers and nobody really knows about performance and optimization.

Only wishful thinkers GenZ, pro cubans Biden's functionaries will rule out Russia's or Chinese directed attack with the authorization of Castro's dictatorship. They are explicit enemies of the U.S, allways conspiring and spying against it.
In Cuba if you fart, the CDR, UJC, PCC, MTT, FMC and several other communist organizations to control the people will know and assign spies to you. The USA embassy in Cuba is the main target of the Cuban intelligence and has spies all around the buildings and where the functionaries live, what they ate, who they talk to, what they poop, everything!. They are constantly been watched by the cuban government. Do you really think this will go on unnoticed?

The ΛCDM model always felt "wrong" in my gut: dark matter? dark energy? is just the modern equivalent of the aether theory.
The fact that is more complex to calculate is not an excuse to prefer the ΛCDM model. The God's theory is even simpler as it spares of any math and physics, yet we do not use it.

at this level of wealth the philantropism "incentives" must be bigger than the "money" given away.

Don't be, physics laws miss interpretation are very quick to correct with a reality check. I'm more worried for kids that have to learn how the world works trough a screen. Just let them play outside and interact with other kids and nature. Let them fall and cry, and scratch and itch, it will make them stronger and healthier adults.

One nice side effect of having GUI builders in the IDE was standarized, optimized and "follow best practices" GUIs. No wonder we reached peak UI in the 90's-2000.
Then came the web and everyone and their mom had an opinion on how a button should look (for games that's fine) and we ended up here.
