Just "less lethal" is the current industry term, since it's acknowledged that these weapons are still capable of killing.

Not "charged" as in indicted but the search was based on an accusation that he had CSAM on the device. But his political proclivities make it pretty transparent that CSAM was an invented excuse to investigate and punish a political dissident.

I've decided to take that salary hit. I want to stay an IC and work somewhere that doesn't effectively require a 996 schedule to keep up with openclaw slop for PR count stack ranking purposes. It really depends on your financial situations, but I've seen the human cost of very high compensation jobs on myself and some things are worth more than money.

I just left a backstabby stack ranked company and so many people were sabotaging colleagues or teams they were in competition with. AI psychosis has been enabling terrible management practices as well as terrible engineering practices.

I'm somewhere that does stack ranking so it's a prisoners' dilemma. As long as someone is running Claude constantly and producing PRs, we all get negative performance implications for simply allowing ai to help us be more effective at what we were already doing.
Honestly it's driving me mad and I'm thinking about looking for different work.

Yes, justices who take bribes or whose spouses help to organize a coup and an insurrection against the United States are not legitimate (Thomas, Alito). I'm more apt to listen to Gorsuch, even though he was in the dissent here, because he seems like a legitimate thoughtful jurist.

He wanted to claim an affirmative defense that he shot in order to defend others, since the cop who was shot had drawn and was aiming a firearm. The judge prohibited the defendant from bringing that defense claim (not that it likely would have worked).
Frankly I don't see how a cop presenting unwarranted deadly force is different from a random person doing the same. Especially now that we've had a decade of body worn camera footage to prove just how lawless American police are.
