Often this guy only tells part of a story - in this case, the NASDAQ changes may be somewhat necessary to encourage companies to IPO, and to avoid missing important companies in indices. We're seeing companies stay private a lot longer than we used to. I'm saying "may be" because I don't know a lot about it, but that aspect of the conversation is missing from the video - why did NASDAQ make these changes?

A journalist claiming that some government was never notified of something by some other government does not pass the whiff test. We have no idea what the internal process is for communication between them.

Journalism is politics. Choosing to daylight information about government is a political choice, regardless of which information you're daylighting. Often, there is a political party (or multiple political parties) trying to avoid daylighting that information. That's also a political choice.

The existence of the fourth estate is the existence of a political actor in tension with the others.

Swan Song, coincidentally, is getting a pilot as a TV series. I'm not sure if it's gotten stuck in development hell or if it's actually going somewhere, it's only been 18 months or so since screenwriting started.

Also I think most of the fatalities in aerial shows are civilian pilots. Control out every nonmilitary flight when considering the risk.

The "Amazon's early start" really reminds me of what the hybrid-focused Japanese car manufacturers did - they knew the battery tech and squandered their lead. This is normal though, this is why disruption is necessary.

Could you write a bit of local code (you said Go?) to dump the email you want acted on to a local file, then schedule Claude to check that file periodically?

It's frustrating to talk to someone about this and get "they need to address these points" (which frankly, they have addressed) and then get "this will happen of course" when I point out that it will in fact happen. It feels like moving the goalposts to avoid saying "thanks for informing me of something new."
