That’s because “impact” is generally code for making other people rich.

If you’re in a small enough company for your impact to matter, chances are your stock options are still chips, which you might never get to cash in.

If the company is post IPO then chances are your impact will never move the needle materially for yourself.

Income is really the only thing that matters. When you do the same job and aren’t getting inflationary bumps then there’s a serious issue.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time trying different katsu curries in Japan and abroad and there are absolutely great katsu curries outside Japan. A little different, usually lacking a sweetness, but that’s more to target local palettes. Though I agree that the shop roux is a major disappointment.

1-2% browser share is a common cutoff for support and Firefox is hurdling towards it. Maybe they’re looking ahead just a few months.

This VR headset isn’t but I think spatial computing will be. IMO this Vision Pro wasn’t meant to be a big seller but a way of taking a research project into an iterative production process. The first iPhone was shit too, same with Apple Watch, and this is far more complex than either. Now it’s time to crank the price/performance/manufacturing.

Yeah but these can be precalculated in the perceptual window as per Framer Motion and Motion One, and then handed off to WAAPI.

Which is still needed for actual spring physicals vs the facsimile of linear() (which might often be enough!)

It will stutter because if your browser is under heavy load then your async function will run when the browser is free to do so - not at the 1s mark as specified by your transition.

If you instead build the keyframes up front and give them to WAAPI/CSS then you won’t encounter stutters.

This is easily provable by adding some blocking JS into your code. Block the main thread for ten seconds after your first transition and see when that next await triggers. Your animation will run smoothly for 1 second and then the next chunk of your timeline won’t run for another 9.
