i get paid in vibes and chilling as well for some similar agent stuff i do for content creators.

quick question, how do you manage these side projects that kinda need to be production ready but aren't you are actual SF job lol?

some of these people think they are my actual customer/client but like i do it for fun and to help them out.

thanks for sharing.

i met an associate working for a particular VC and they were really into time series foundational models. I argued the most of the "Why real forecasting problems break the whole frame" as to why they were wasting their time at that time.

she was totally convinced i was wrong because she was discussing investing with some top and well respected researchers that were really pushing this and wanted to make a startup around it.

i was and am still confused as at all the wishful thinking. then again, sometimes the best time to sell an idea is right before you think it is possible.

If there is text on the video (like a caption or wtv), will the embedding capture that? Never thought about this before.

If the video has audio, does the embedding capture that too?

Doing it on the go via the app is much easier than using the web app through the main OS browser just because the UI is optimized. not a problem with using the web app approach, just that there isnt as much investment in it due to zeitgeist i guess.

Also since you are already using 2FA, you are already on the phone so might as well do basic operations there.

I can also look at transactions in my bed before going to bed so that is nice.

If I need to look at a support ticket or look at transactions more deeply, i still use the desktop approach.

it is a good thought. hits deep as well. though, i found it a bit troubling the rejection of one's roots because exalting the past could put less emphasis on the present or the future. i don't think that is universal; partly an erasure mindset. but i understand it in context of the article.

WebView is the worst experience I have on any smart phone or mobile app.

The fact that there is no option so that any webview by default opens in safari across all app in ios is horrible.

i am not surprised it is riddled with security holes.

Effective altruism came from the "rationalist"

It was never about helping poor people.

For some reason, the rationalist movement and its offshoots are really pervasive in silicon valley. i don't see it much in the other tech cities.

Thanks! I wonder how they enforce retention of personal data if a user adds identifying data and they use a model from anthropic or wtv like others said. maybe that is the wrong question at all if they are using their own models but i thought they didn't. Apple's AI strategy on the whole sounds coherent to me but the specifics are super confusing.

a lot of artists don't mind use AI for art outside their field

I was in a fashion show in tokyo in 2024.

i noticed their fashion was all human designed. but they had a lot of posters, video, and music that was AI generated.

I point blank asked the curator why he used AI for some stuff but didn't enhance the fashion with AI. I was a bit naive because I was actually curious to see if AI wasn't ready for fashion or maybe they were going for an aesthetic. I genuinely was trying to learn and not point out a hypocrisy.

he got mad and didn't answer. i guess it is because they didn't want to pay for everything else. big lesson learned in what to ask lol.
