There are a ton of people that want an affordable ICE powered truck, for a variety of valid and invalid reasons. The market is there, but they're going to need to be smart about how they do this if they want to capture that market.

I was sorta surprised when the blog mentioned it was like 200k lines of code for an app. I wouldn't think you'd even need an app for something that puts midi files on an sd card.

I'd assume almost all of that is done server side though. Most likely the app is mostly just a wrapped website with some gps and notification code on top.

yeah, even gas stations mostly make their money off of other stuff. if anything it's a little weird for a business to make their money off their primary business model.

I find that happening all the time when I google stuff discussed in reddit threads, the top result is often the thread I just came from, despite whatever quote or lyric or whatever having existed for years outside of reddit.

You graft a bit from a small tree, to a much more mature rootstock, so the time to market is a lot of less than trying to grow a small tree from start. So like 1-2 years instead of 10+ years. Yes, you still need to get the scion from someone that has them because apples don't breed true, the only true one is the original that all the others are grafted off of.

This, the people that don't understand farming and buy into weird anti-gmo propaganda always claim that a simple google search agrees with them, but when you actually read the cases, it's clear that the people being sued are always in the wrong.

I don't really think a smart watch would add any value to my life, and I suspect that's actually true for most people that think otherwise, but I love the idea of custom watch faces. There are some really interesting and creative ones for pebble, that comic drop one the author links too is pretty sweet.
