I noticed shit like that pre-AI, but at least then it was written by a person and conceivably useful info, even if redundant and not always necessary. I can't imagine how bad it's going to get with all the AI slop now.

This, I like his writing, and am subscribed to his Bits About Money newsletter which gives a lot of info about how payment processing works, but your comment is spot on about the writings being influenced by his current work and the current place he is within his life. Hopefully everyone thinks about those sorts of things when reading articles like this, regardless of author because it's a common issue.

They don't live in the tropics at all. While Mexico City is technically in the tropics, the elevation makes it subtropical, with more spring-like temps than warm summer-like temps.

That's sorta not true, it's just a quirk of language development. If they only have one word that covers both, they use additional words to describe the actual shade they're talking about.
