it's so validating getting the same conclusion we got to from someone that i've never met. it seems that they create these products without ever speaking with someone with that problem.

Funnily enough we're creating a competitor of these third party app that you mention, with the huge experience of my colleague that is son of blind parents.

We have an mvp online but it's not much yet and i really don't want to be the "do you know i have an app?" guy.

There are ways to analyze the content of your app so you know exactly what's taking all the space.

Tools can vary depending on what language you used. For example i wrote a small app using flutter and i used the flutter's app size tool.

If i may add, they won't complain because the headlights of their cars aren't the ones that are flashing directly at their own face. To them the problem will always be the other's cars having the lights too bright.

Cooking time can be a good indicator. If it says 10 minutes you can start to check it out by 8 and decide from there.

Blog posts are really a scourge both when learning to do something new, and when you're googling your way out of a bug. Most of them are stuck in time (so no updates ever) and find solutions to problems that are similar to the one you're solving, but not quite the same.
