Anthropic‘s throwing out new models but the devs are NOT happy.
Was all the goodwill people had for Anthropic products them selling unsustainably high performance at a loss?

1. bind user to email
2. allow login via magic link via email, after login the jwt/cookie/whatever should have no expiration date
3. (optional) allow one user to have multiple emails + merging accounts/users (call it backup email to collecr multiple user emails in advance, soft nudging only, not mandatory to use the product!)
4. (optional) offer any other way to login (un+pwd), google oAuth…
It‘s THAT easy.

I estimate far above 90% of frontends do the same thing you could do with .jsp or .jsf 20 years ago and yet here we are still not having perfectly reusable frontend primitives and everyone doing custom development. We were closer to that with bootstrap than now with tailwind.
I am convinced neither client side nor backend side AI solutions will solve this.
Fully on topic: It would be naive to believe that serious web offerings would allow you to do this. Reality is moving in a different direction: Try applying custom css and js to reddit, for example: The website is a nightmarish matryoshka of shadow dom components and that‘s only the beginning of the flashification and silverlightification of the web.

Humanity did something better (humans on the moon) decades ago and now we are struggling to fly around the moon.
This is not exciting, it‘s embarassing.
Besides that it‘s a massive waste of money and brings no value to humanity, the USA or science. Why is this done again?
I feel like anyone excited about this is weird.

As an EU citizen I hate this but I know it‘s a „when?“ not an „if“ topic.
I realise the EU is our only hope to defend ourselves against big players like China and the US and smaller bullies like Russia.
But at the same time I realise the EU we have in this timeline is one of the worst possible: a criminal venture, a safe heaven for the corrupt elite + their lobbyists and an organisation that‘s hell bent on harming and controlling its citizens.
Majorities for sane parties are not possible. Democracy is too slow, too indirect. Hell, this is barely a democracy at all, just like on the national level. As EU citizens we as powerless as every other citizen in the world.
