Insurance is not a fixed cost. Property and auto insurance are, but liability is a percentage of sales, its fixed for a year then adjusted for next years planned sales.

I am no longer in software as a day job so i am not sure of my input applys. I traded that world for opening a small brewery back in 2013. So I am a bit outdated on many modern trends but I still enjoy programming. In the last fee months using both gemeni and now movong over to claude, I have created at least 5 (and growing) small apps that have radically transformed what i am able to do at the business. I totally improved automation of my bookkeeping (~16hrs a month categorizing everything down to 3ish), created an immense amount of better reports on production, sales and predictions from a system i had already been slowly writing all these years, I created a run club rewards tracking app instead of relying on our paper method, improved upon a previously written full tv menu display system that syncs with our website and on premis tvs and now i am working on a full productive maintenance trigger system and a personal phone app to trigger each of these more easily. Its been a game changer for me. I have so many more ideas planned and each one frees up more of my waste time to create more.

"Right now if you have a full screen app on your main screen you can't even see what time it is."
This drives me crazy. I'm in a flow, distraction free via the full screen and break it to see what date or time it is. Even on a multi monitor setup. Which usually ends up meaning I get pulled out of that flow because I see a new notification on some other app or because I grabbed my phone to check that info.

You can run .net without azure very easily. I personally have 4x web apps written in .net 8, razor. They used to be on a aws windows instance years ago but it was overly expensive for what I needed. Then I switched them to a small digital ocean server running ubuntu. When I started these apps I wrote them on windows 7 for windows server. I switched the server probably 2 years ago. I recently made the switch off of windows to ubuntu as my daily driver, instead of going to 11. Everything still works great. I do miss visual studio, but I am getting used to linux and its tools now. Point is, server is running and there is zero azure involved.

I just made the switch to ubuntu as my main os from windows. Firefox on windows never seemed to have any problems. Now I keep getting the same problem as your computer a. It doesnt happen every time, and i havent figured out the pattern.
But clicking the x to close a tab does nothing, middle clicking the tab still closes it. Any time this problem starts I also have issues using the mouse middle button to scroll (on all apps, not just ff) Very, very annoying. Since these issues seem linked it seems bigger than just ff.

I also thought this was an odd statement to see. Electric cars really haven't been around long enough to give that kind of respect to time. A few brands have but the newer models are totally different beasts.
Vs ice which easily last long, long past 200k. I'm at 240k right now and it still performs perfectly.
As a side note on the newer ice vehicles I don't see how those terrible tablets that control everything will last long enough for the other mechanical problems in the cars to show up.
