I am more worried about how it trivializes a lot of news which should affect you positively or negatively. It removes the reality and gravity of things happening to just "I won the bet or I lost". Especially when there are bets on war. Are people who better for war, supposed to feel happy that they predicted right? Of course it depends on the individual, and certain kind are more likely to bet on war than other but it still incentivizes a lot of people.
I usually wouldn't bet on war but I was thinking the other day about betting on Valorant. I could hedge my emotions. I could bet against my team and be in a win win situation. If they win, I am happy. If they lose, I earned lunch money.

TIL. I always thought that "If it bite you -> you die = venom" and "If you eat, bite, touch -> you die = poison". But your differentiation makes more sense

Sorry to say but I see a lot of ill informed takes here on sugar, fats and their 'correlation' with CVD.
To put it bluntly, jut eat maintenance calories with most of it coming from good protein sources and eat good amount of fibre. No, dietary cholesterol isn't gonna kill you, nor is sugar but obviously that doesn't mean you eat tons of them.
And the most important is enough sleep and WORKOUTTTT. 240 min of cardio and resistant training combined. Is that a lot to do?
Why do you need to optimize each and every aspect of each nutrition? "Oh, I don't eat meat because it is correlated to heart disease, so I consume dairy. Oh wait it isnt exactly digestible so I consume vegetables. Oh wait, I will have to eat like KGs and Kgs of veggies to meet the nutrient requirement. Oh wait, that means I am eating tons of carbs". How about you stop brushing your ego and just keep it simple by having a sense of number of calories you want and then eat enough protein from natural sources.
Yeah, for sure if you have any beliefs which prevents you from eating something then by all means find alternatives and have processed food. Processed food is not necessarily bad. Whey protein is processed but it is very important for vegetarians. What grinds my gears is this push to find the ideal diet. Vegans hate carnivores. Carnivores make fun of vegans for eating veggies. Like bro, shut up.

I would expect this way of thinking about evolution would be common but unfortunately it isn't. I feel the way we say "X animal evolved to do Y" sets the ton as if it was a active, thought out decision. Instead, it was just 1000s of mutation happened and maybe a certain kind was able to survive while other wasn't. It is more of a mathematical concept than conscious one.

But I guess the budget allocation, return on investment, time to develop a series etc have to come from the higher ups

I think your comment is proving the point. Trying to make shows appeal to all kinds of services is not exactly an approach to making high quality shows. Masses tend to converge to mediocrity. If you consider it an art form then it really needs to come from the production side and not the consumption.

R.I.P to the quality of HBO shows and looking forward to slow burn shows getting cancelled more now. HBO has been going through a really bad phase recently ha. With Discovery, WB and now this. Is it too much to hope that the quality of content won't drop to Netflix level? I just hope the "give writers the time and resources" mindset of HBO doesn't change

Exactly. I agree with the leetcode part. A lot of problems in the world are composite of simpler smaller problems. Leetcode should teach you the basic patterns and how to combine them to solve real world problems. How will you ever solve a real world problem without knowing a few algorithms beforehand. For example, my brother was talking about how a Roomba would map a room. He was imagining 0 to represent free space and 1 as inaccessible points. This quickly reminded me of Number of Islands problem from leetcode. Yeah, there might be a lot of changes required to that problem but one could simple represent it as two problems.
1. Represent different objects in the room as some form of machine understandable form in a matrix
2. Find the number of Islands or find the Islands themselves.
