I can fully understand your sentiment too. I not have always lived in Scandinavia. But sadly now I can fully relate to the author too.

I have come to both conclusions on my own too... Is it better to live in competition to avoid thinking... Or... Is it better to derive joy form external factors: family, craft, nature.

You sell units at break even, hoping you make profit from service and support.

You see the levels of complications....

You can secure ur gold physically very well, fires and natural disasters short of volcano, yet it is easy to steal it at gunpoint.

Crypto is hard and cumbersome to secure ( paper keys, hw Wallets), yet very hard to steal at gunpoint.

Also there is plenty of anecdotal evidence especially in IT of highly successful career women that would drop everything just to have have children.

All these brilliant minds working for so long and accomplishing so much... Just for a clap and cheer, yet tommorow they have to do it all again in the rat race. Yet cryptokings are basking in glory for a lifetime.

If you work in wall-mart your lunch is not paid. If you are the CEO of wall-mart you can expense a 2000 USD lunch and call it a buissness meeting.

If your job is number collection (realestate, banking, etc ) it is an addiction just like hoarding, the more you do it the more bigger number you want.

We should start shaming people for hoarding money just like we shame the poor for collecting toilet paper.

Working 12 hours as a CEO is not comparable to 12 hours shift in the factory.

Elon was lucky to be born in a rich family. Made his first 100k before 18.

Felix was lucky to be born in time to ride that hippie wave.

Just like some people were lucky to throw money on bitcoin in 2010~2015.

Still more should be a credited to chanse and luck.
