Why would I spend my time reading a random blog?
The author makes no effort anywhere on the site to give themselves any credibility. They don't even give their name or occupation. A google search lends no more real information either.
From my POV it might as well be a youtube comment that is 8 pages long.

It seems like the person is fighting the good fight, maybe, but who is Dynomight?
These random bloggers/influencers speaking from self-proclaimed high ground is in large part how we got in this mess. There are a gazillion people out there who know how to say the right things, to get the right minds, the click the right "follow" buttons, none of which has any bearing on truth, honesty, or accuracy.

>Worst thing China can do is steal your IP if you’re not a Chinese national and have no ties to China
And what if you end up being someone with power or data access in the US over something that interests the party in China?
The Chinese are way ahead of you, so don't think it's a non-issue. The russians played the same game during the cold war. Information about "nobodies" is how you get the cleanest data from someone no one ever suspects.

I don't subscribe to conspiracy much.
The courts here regularly shoot down government transgressions, and social media regularly gets it wrong (clicks are god, not facts). Also lets no pretend that it isn't in the agencies interest to perpetuate the idea that they are everywhere all the time watching everything.
Trump has been throwing a hissy fit over the court rulings. Xi doesn't ever do that because there are no courts that can rule against him.
It's only "the exact same thing" if you drink the kool aid all day.

On social media.
I'm not sure of the genesis of it, but it got traction with "health-fluencers" (not to be confused with health experts) and has spread like wildfire despite no real evidence backing it up. Its just a circle of parrots repeating whatever is trending so they can get on the algo train.
Now it's starting to show up in brands and businesses because the mindless algo herd gravitates towards it.
Apparently at heart it has to do with solvents being used to extract the oil, but those solvents are trivially boiled out after processing.

The US is an economic miracle for white collar workers.
For blue collar it's been nothing but off-shoring, downsizing, and shutting down for 50 years now. Those are the people who elected Trump.
That's why he goes so hard on tariffs (protect industry prices) and immigration (protect worker pay leverage). Both of which are very populist

No, there isn't really much debate, but definitely a lot of debate between left wing and right wing populism, which seems to be what you are stuck on.
It seems like I'm trying to tell you he is a populist, and you are trying to tell me his a bad person/bad leader. Which is true, but orthogonal to populism.
But if it helps, in my original comment I laid out many of Trump's populist policies. Ironically many of these are shared with Bernie, or if they had originated with Bernie, would have been celebrated.
Remember many Bernie bros went to trump in 2016, because Hilary's list of policies looks nothing like the one I laid out above.

I understand the need for charity, and we should be doing it to support these countries.
But I don't see how to logically make the connection that when you pull that charity back, you are now responsible for any crisis.
That is exactly the argument that people who are against foreign aid make.
Like I will help you walk and feed your dog if you can't all the time, but if I stop doing that and your dog gets sick, that's not my fault and I'm not a bad person.

Trump is the populist candidate elected to put the US back on competitive economic footing.
His economic policy has way more overlap with Bernie's than people tend to understand. Both believe immigration lowers wages, and both believe tariffs are imperative (you have to dig back to pre-2017 talk from Bernie, he changed his website/talking points after Trump won).
Edit: People struggle so hard with politics because everyone is totally blinded by there side. Here are populist things Trump has done/trying to do
- remove taxes on tips
- implement tariffs on foreign goods
- implement strict immigration policy (note sanders wanted a pathway to citizenship, he did not want an open border, and he never addressed how he would handle millions showing up at the border)
- block corporate landlords from single family home ownership
- create a government funded college level education program to get free bachelor degrees.
- take government ownership stake in large American companies (us steel, intel)
- cap interest rates on credit cards
- lower central bank interest rates
- de-criminalizing drugs, reschedule marijuana
- pro crypto
- pro prediction markets
Guys, you can hate Trump, you can accurately access he isn't intelligent or competent, criticize his brutish approach, but if you cannot recognize he is a populist, you are objectively lost-in-the-sauce.

>That does probably have its effect on economic growth..
Yes it does, it has kept the US economy growing and relevant. Europe has been economically stagnant and resting on its laurels for 30 years.
Also QoL in the US is high, you just need something like an SWE job to access it.

The actual question is if (capable) SWEs will choose working for (or be a founder of) Dutch/Euro tech companies over US ones, or even leave the US to live there.
Europe is an excellent value prop if you want to be a bartender or baker. Its decidedly less so if you want to be a white collar/gold collar worker.
