They are not. The literal selling point of valve's games for kid gambling is that you don't need to pass KYCs for gambling with steam credits.

not when all the world capital is pushed into that bubble while eventually eroding the freedom to do all these things

can't move away from internet when you can't earn money without it, and all the services require you to participate

can't read books if no one is going to be publishing those, after they get out-competed by cheap endless slop

no point in walking when cities are built for cars and businesses, and public spaces continue to dwindle and be defunded

can't hang out when you're too tired trying to survive

I agree. For me, it's much funnier when read as Greg not being aware of the issue.

It's the same idea as Dennis in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia being oblivious that he's acting like a psychopath. Doesn't stop a lot of people from pushing a fan-theory that he is indeed a psycho and tries to hide it - which to me ruins the joke completely.

Ultimately the issue is allowing Google to skirt around anti-monopoly rules by throwing money at Mozilla. Can't really blame the latter for cashing in when the rules fail at enforcing a competitive environment.
