It's not disingenuous? The person you responded to linked to articles which said it was one sided. You said the other opposite, but provided no sources. I asked for some. It's a simple request that was made politely
---
The whole response is bizarre tbh. Talking about my "sudden" interest. I made one comment. "Deep in the chat". It's quite shallow. I am assuming this is a bot

Is there any writing outside of your recollection that says the Heard side was using bots? Afaik all reporting suggested it was one sided, and not her side

I was just explaining my reasoning. Trust is gained in drops and lost in buckets. Affiliate fraud is far more serious and untrustworthy than a popup advertising their own product. But yes Mozilla have had their missteps too, no doubt.
In any case, thanks for explaining. There are some features there I was unaware of

Why use Brave rather than FF? Sincere question. Lots of tech minded people choose it, when FF seems like an ideal choice?
My reasoning for not using Brave: not only is it a wrapper around Chromium, but their crypto stuff and some dodgy affiliate injection in the past paints them as untrustworthy.

Second recommendation for newpipe. Fantastic app. I love that you can still have "subscriptions", playlists etc without an account. Set it as the default app for youtube.com and related domains and you'll never look back

It's a damn shame. Using FF on android with a fully fledged uBlock Origin is so good. Makes the web usable. I don't know how people stand browsing with chrome.
I recommend FF whenever the topic of ads comes up and hope that word of mouth with eventually do its thing. Most people don't know about it in my experience.

I'm always astonished when some cash for questions type scandal gets revealed and it turns out they got given like £10k to lobby for some cause. Frighteningly small amount of cash in comparison to the potential impact.
It leads me to wonder what I could get done for myself if I was to drain some savings and send a bung to a politician. But alas, I have scruples

The article and your comment reminds me of one of my favourite songs which is a beautiful tribute to the ordinary - even dull - moments that make up life.
The song starts with a man in his deathbed whose life flashes before his eyes. As he is about to pass, he pleads with God to have one last chance to write down his ordinary life from start to end:

Please! Seeing my life like this
 It made me think
I could state succinctly everything life is
 If you gave me ink.
And I could maybe print every speech and thought,
And release my plot on these streets I’ve walked,
 With a piece of chalk.
To paint the sharpest image of a heart
*Cuz as much as art can mimic
Nothing’s as real as a life told from start to finish*

He writes his story down on the floor of his town, and when he is done he finally passes. The next day people find his writing and are enthralled with what he described, moved by the candid retelling of an ordinary life:

 People came from everywhere
They read the story through for days
It wasn’t nothing new or strange
Still they were moved and amazed
*It wasn’t the places he’d been or the people he’d met
It was the spaces between and the secrets he’d kept.*
They wept joyfully, for the greatest story no one told
Was just the story of an ordinary man growing old

I love the emphasised lines. People focus on the big moments - where you go, who you meet - yet what actually captivated the readers were the small moments that fill the gaps between everything else. That's where the real life is.
The song is "A Story No-One Told" by Shad https://genius.com/Shad-a-story-no-one-told-lyrics

I am not super studied in nazi symbology. I learnt about this symbol in high school history class btw.
It is not a regular skull and crossbones anymore than the iron cross (which you identify as nazi symbolism) is a regular cross. It's strange to insist on the former, while distinguishing the latter as obviously nazi.

Hmm I don't know. Other comments are suggesting that unless you're well studied in nazi symbolism you'd never know. I think I learnt about this in high school history class. I wonder if there's a European/American divide on this topic (I am European)
I think it is probably useful for people to familiarise themselves with Nazi symbolism though. You would be surprised how often you encounter people online using these obscure symbols, knowing most people won't recognise them.

It's an extremely well known nazi symbol. Probably second behind the swastika itself. There's even that famous "are we the baddies" meme, which uses that symbol as a central pillar of the gag.
