The number of people blasting video on a regional flight with no internet really made me reconsider just how necessary airplane mode is. Probably an applicable case study for many other societal boundary-breaches silently spreading.

the mass-market-ification of: clothing(world clothelessness used to be a severe problem, paper clothes existed for a reason), AC, light vehicles, solar: all things after the 20th (and even 21st century) that are worth saving. Even with the seeming doom, things do get better.

I think a happy medium like signal would be much better, slack is an immovable part of much of the (white-collar) business relationship world now but it'd be nice if there were assurances of secrecy and security in communication as 24/7 cyberattacks rather than a company whose security is based solely on promises rather than zero-knowledge systems. Signal has had far and away the best cross-platform messaging experience of any client I've used in friend groups but moving to a slack-like system alongside what exists now would be much appreciated to the noisy channel approach.

the (imperfect) comparison having used both for planning and execution is that GLM5.2 is too jumpy and eager to do things, often to a fault (e.g. deploying/using git when it shouldn't) while sonnet 5 was much lazier than any Claude model I have used has been, not adding an addendum to a plan that I asked for, then lying that it did when asked. Looking at the analysis[0] I don't think it's worth it for me. Maybe for others. Fable was certainly much better.
