If you use WSL, you can get the same functionality as "open ." with

  explorer.exe $(wslpath -w "$PWD")

It's a bit lengthy so this is always aliased in my .bashrc when using WSL

Then who is in the best position to describe the art? The test authors?

A better way to judge the students' understanding of literary concepts present in a poem would be to have them describe it however they want, and grade them on how well they can cite evidence for their claims about the author's intention.

Chess could definitely use some more content to keep players interested, maybe some new characters or a better story-line. And I'd kill for a graphical update, the game looks like it was made a thousand years ago! Unfortunately I think the devs have abandoned the project.

Productivity is productivity. If you take so much time off that you aren't getting anything done, you're going to be fired.

I've personally had a good experience so far with "unlimited PTO". I've been working at a company with that policy for a year now, and I've never had an issue taking as much time off as I need for vacations, personal days, etc. It helps that my supervisors are pretty cool about it.
