I'd say it's a lot higher than this. This is just the reported numbers.

I live in London and I'm fairly careless. Yesterday when I hopped onto a bus a driver told me I was crazy for holding my phone out infront of me and that it would be snatched if I kept that up.

I could list 10 people I know that have had their phone stolen at some point in the last few years. I've also seen it happen several times. It's very common.

There's a bit of a difference to me between a calculator and writing.. Creativity. Words aren't just a vessel for ideas. If there were different calculation structures etc and space for people to develop their own styles and approaches to calculate things, then sure.

A person's writing style is developed through what they read. And if human's writing style becomes more homogeneous through AI then that's sort of a shame.

I agree. The natural next step is to have an MCP for a global directory of MCPs that an agent can search to complete jobs.

Yeah the most unbelievable part of this is people randomly chatting in London.

I live in London, and I remember flying to Ireland at some point, and I was seated next to an Irish lady returning home from holiday who sparked up a conversation.

My initial reaction was "Why the fuck are you talking to me?" because I had lived in London so long I was thrown off by a random person sparking conversation. But turns out she was just a lovely Irish lady flying from from holiday

I don't know, I'd feel this way a little. if it's something that's not obvious how much effort goes into the underlying process, it can feel pretty deflating if the craft behind it has felt like it's eliminated.

I can't really think of a good example, but if my hobby was glueing precision glueing little 3d models, then suddenly the hobby has exploded because 3d printers have made it easy, it suddenly feels like it's devalued my collection of manually crafted plastic models

Agreed!

Especially getting them to generate sequence / flow charts I find is a hack to figure out how everything fits together well.

Claude code is fantastic at quickly tracing through code and building visualisations of how code works together

It's far easier to read diagrams then it is to read code.

To get a good mental model, I'll often get an LLM to generate a few mermaid diagrams to help create a mental model of how everything pieces together

It's really supposed to supplement README.md, but targeting an agentic coding loop.

E.g. "Before each commit, do X and Y to validate the changes."

Not really relevant, but this triggered a memory of being around 14 years old and getting scammed on Runescape which drove an evil character arch from me to somehow find out how to DDOS players in the duel arena and make absolute bank. I still feel a little guilty about my actions to this day. At the same time, I'm surprised that at 14 I was able to find and pay for a denial of service provider and figure out players IP addresses to intentionally disconnect them

See this is what surprises me. I would have thought voting for a more regular market with higher taxes to the elite would be favourable to the majority non-tech workers, rather than the billionaires which play the puppeteers to trump

I just bought a 32 inch monitor and can't stand it.

27 inch is the sweet spot for me. The further through my career the more i've effective with smaller screen space and I am.

I actually prefer working on my 16 mbp nowadays.

Mine has as well, but it's pretty useful. It's really just a search engine though, but it's indexed confluence and all other internal sites and i've found it pretty useful for everything.
