<p>That's definitely a good point. But it's also sort of self-fulfilling: those layout misalignments and RTL font issues you mentioned become less of an issue as more people embrace Qt. Chrome presumably has figured it out simply because so many people are reliant on it working. If more people embraced Qt, they'd fix the hard parts as they would have more investment.</p>

<p>JMP and stata are <i>really</i> solid tools, but I feel like the advantage stems from the fact that they help me discover new statistical methods. In the GUI I can see an option for something I never seen before, read the documentation, and therefore expand my stats skillset. This type of discoverability is a bit harder with R/Python just due to the nature of it being purely script driven.</p>

<p>I've been playing around with this casually for a few weeks and am quite impressed. It's a definite improvement over Jira in simplicity and performance, but is missing quite a few features still. But still, it's my preference. I have started to appreciate light, fast, minimalist interfaces much more over time.</p>

<p>I do wish System76 could sell a Lenovo P53 and/or the new Dell XPS 17, but with pop installed with all the right drivers etc. It's worth the premium IMO to get a laptop you know will work well with linux.</p>
