Perhaps you can install a real Linux on this one. Probably not though.

Why did you downgrade from your 13 mini? It's supported until 2030.

New comment by abc42 in "Cultivating a state of mind where new ideas are born (2023)"

abc42 — Sun, 16 Aug 2026 10:43:42 +0000

Another take from David Lynch: https://www.amazon.com/Catching-Big-Fish-Meditation-Consciou...

> Ideas are like fish.

> If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you've got to go deeper.

> Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They're huge and abstract. And they're very beautiful.

Even though he liberally sprinkled pseudoscientificism into his metacognition, the older I get, the more I think he really got it.

New comment by abc42 in "I close SSH port 22 (and what I use instead)"

abc42 — Sat, 15 Aug 2026 07:56:39 +0000

Government debt is essentially also a tax, though. Just the kind where you pay an interest.

New comment by abc42 in "OpenAI’s head of ethics leaves less than a year after joining"

abc42 — Wed, 12 Aug 2026 04:57:22 +0000

I've thought of AI ethics as trying to answer the question of what kind of life we are creating here. Sort of like if a chicken factory farm employed an ethicist.

abc42 — Tue, 11 Aug 2026 04:47:16 +0000

There's one use where it makes a lot of sense though: massive downpayments of government debt. Though it should be paired with an iron-clad obligation (like a constitutional amendment) not to let the debt rise like that again in the future.

You could make your video game source AGPL. Source code is hardly a differentiating factor these days so you'll lose nothing.
