I looked it up, and that car isn't being sold here and would indeed be in the 'big SUV' range. About 3% of cars here are those cars, while in the USA it's about 10-20%.

But question: why drive that car, with that milage, while you could have a slightly smaller car with better milage? I just don't get that.

I do understand that. I am not invalidating the reasons behind it, but it doesn't change the fact it's cheaper. Here we also have trucks, cars etc that take long commutes and thus a very high price will bring the price of transpiration up.

Also I would argue it's maybe better for the US to use smaller cars, since it thus becomes quite cheap to drive. Also this would probably make the roads safer, as bigger cars (mostly) equal unsafer cars (and shit drivers, but that's just my opinion tbh).

Okay sorry it's 11 days later, but: mostly taxes etc. Also because the fuel is 'made' partly here (refined), it makes it more costly since workers and also taxes are higher.

Also the Netherlands where I live is very expensive, while Sweden it's 0,50 cents at least lower.

I have no idea, and what do you mean by 'typical US car'? Like a US car model or just the fact Americans drive more?

A lot of Europeans do drive as much as Americans do, like me and truckers etc. Having 2,34 a liter here in NL makes that a pain in the arse.

Also: using more fuel on average doesn't invalidate that American fuel, compared to Europe, is dirt cheap.

Edit: also wanna add there are many 'American' cars on the road here, like Ford F-150s etc. They are imported, but have the same fuel consumption as the US variant, as being the same as the US variant.

Does the 'zero CUDA dependency' also count for running it on my own device? I have an AMD card, older model. Would love to have a small version of this running for coding purposes.

Really nice to see the Chinese are competing this strongly with the rest of the world. Competition is always nice for the end-consumer.

Old Outlook still works and is supported until ~2029. We still use it here.

Because for some it works. At least I haven't heard the stories I see here yet at my workplace. Also I use some Azure, but apart from some weird UI bugs never had real big issues.

Okay cool, I don't ask for donations. Instead I just sell my product, something like a Office 2024 license. 120 Eur a year, but feel free to use it as long as you like. That's what I bought recently. I don't want Microsoft 365 with the cloud storage, I pay Dropbox for that and use some other client to use it basically as a extra storage device for backups. I just need an Office suite, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Yes: LibreOffice is nice and all, but doesn't work for MY needs.

But I get your point: having a succesful Open Source (FLOSS) app without dono's isn't possible, you need to have some to make it work anyhow.

"I don't think Disney deserves money". And that, in my eyes, makes it morally incorrect. They are the copyright holder, or a lot of times the creator. They thus deserve the income. They being evil doesn't make your evil correct.

Thanks for showing this! I personally have a 4 years old Money Manager EX (MMEX) database, but I am always looking forward to something new, yet nothing for me have worked as good as MMEX. This looks good enough, albeit I need a GUI for this, and the comments might already put me into the right direction.

I am already used to logging everything manually, so importing isn't needed for me. Also I think having some 'manual labor' in this regard can help with becoming more 'in tune with your finances', to actually learn what is going on, instead of having an app that you check once a month.

This is the result of the laws put in place, and yes they should be changed. That doesn't make pirating morally or legally justified. 'Because he is bad I can be bad too' is morally wrong.

Not for ICE, the only train worth getting for me. Also I don't live in Germany, in the Netherlands. Trains are expensive. Even though I live in the Randstad, near big cities, I don't have any good public transport here. It's just not worth it for me.

I am never taking the train in Germany or through Germany again (or through Belgium, for that matter). The experience is consistently bad. NS, DB, and NMBS all perform poorly. Train travel itself has become unreliable and frustrating. Ever since I got my car, the difference in freedom is obvious.

I do support having basic public transport and solid bike infrastructure for young people, but once you’re 25 or older, there’s little justification for relying on such low-quality public transport.

I’ll be going to Prague next year, and I’m fully willing to drive for hours rather than sit on a train that keeps getting delayed, is unpleasant to be on, and costs far too much.
