This tangentially reminds me of a very interesting idea I think I encountered in a Borges story - for a map to be useful, it must be inaccurate.

That is to say, a perfectly accurate map would just be a replica of the the terrain it is mapping - anything less would technically be inaccurate. Only by leaving things out and "summarizing" an area does a map become a useful representation of the terrain.

This is a bit of a turn-off. Sounds like a modern day conservative whining about not being able to say Merry Christmas and people convincing children to destroy themselves with surgery.

I wouldn't say so....90k is low for someone with a lot of experience. New grads expect more than that.

This comment conveys to me Asperger's levels of superrational thinking and lack of empathy. "How could someone be resentful at losing their job to a nonsensical decision making process? How could someone possibly be frustrated to be shown zero gratitude for their very profitable work for someone else? I simply don't understand, on paper it is the logical outcome." Okay spock.
