<p>Like all things in life, there's nuance and degrees.<p>If you look at Europe, every party in control lost every major election in the last year.<p>On the other hand, Harris was the first democratic nominee to lose the popular vote (by a small margin, but still) since 2004.<p>My opinion is that a Generic Republican likely would've outperformed Trump, but all these hypotheticals and thought experiments don't change anything.</p>

<p>But it's still not really foie gras -- "The foie gras is 51 percent Japanese quail cells ... plus a plant-based fat mix and corn husk flavorings."<p>I think this is going to run into the same problems as impossible burger. They made a huge deal about how their patties "bleed," but no one has ever tasted an impossible burger and confused it for ground beef.</p>

<p>What timescale are we looking at to decide if building foundries and manufacturing chips in the States is a good idea? There's an argument that there aren't nearly enough skilled workers to do high tech manufacturing here. Didn't TSMC also struggle to hire enough skilled workers in Arizona?</p>
