The IDF and elected islraelis officials were openly genicidal and bragged about killing civilians. It wasn't just random people.

The entire point of using Linux is to avoid this type of shit. If the people in charge of a distro it don't get this, it's probably best to avoid them and the project entirely.
When users ask you to copy MS Windows, they mean the user interface and how things just work out of the box, they aren't asking for spyware and Microsoft's dark patterns.

You missed the point completely. The problem with a user hostile closed OS like Windows is that they collect a lot of data from your computer even if you never open a web browser. You have no clue what they collect and what they do with the data

I just started building a small website for structural engineers with various tools on it (eg. capacity of a steel column). I have spent thousands of hours in the past building fancy excel (incl. vba)and mathcad documents for personal use and this is my first time trying to do it with "real" code. I went with Blazor and c#, so far it looks like a good choice. The long term goal if the projects is a success and becomes popular would be to have a FEM engine for 2D frame structures running in the browser client-side.

One of the main avantage of regulating a professional board (eg. Engineers, doctors, etc) is to make an individual fully responsible. What if that "lowly swe" wasn't so lowly anymore and the company executives could go to jail if they pushed code without his stamp on it? In civil engineering, if your boss asks you to stamp something illegal and you do it, you can lose your title.
It garantees that there is always one person in charge who will take personal responsibility for the act and will fight for thing to be done properly and no one can bypass him.

That feature already exists. It's technically not a "checkbox", but you can set a cell (or all of them) as string type in like 3 clicks.

You are completely missing the point. Putin and Xi cannot block Twitter in America. They cannot prevent two Americans living in the US from talking to each other negatively about Russia.
