After watching pmarca's eye opening interview this morning, I am curious to know how pervasive the debanking phenomenon is.
Did you ever have a bank account closed on you for no good apparant reason?
What are some other ways this is enforced? I know for example, the the industry in Europe maintains a list for politically exposed persons, for which there is no recourse or transparency. So if you get on that list accountants will refuse to work with you and banks will close silently, and there is no way to contest it. According to pmarca this could be an arbitrary use of power for something you do for work.

Weird that a Biden DOJ would do this.
Here's a bet: they are offloading a legal liability. Within 12 months someone reverse engineers the binaries and show that they were siphoning out all keystroke data, or it has an official remote backdoor or something equally horrendous.

Custom tooling I wrote:
1. Focus session time tracker with talking clock counting down every n minutes.
2. Activity monitor and alerter. Tracks active window and title every minute and alerts if more than n minutes outside whitelisted websites. Alert immediately if blacklisted website (dns blocking is painful. Sometimes you want to access it for a few minutes).
A bunch of more things but those are the two most effective ones.

Annual vaccines are much more convenient and are preferable to one-off treatments like antibiotics, (which reduce the nations GDP as well because of they "cure" the problem cheaply), and have proven to be safe.
I call for an immediate ban on antibiotics. Only high ranking members of society should have access. And people with good social credit scores.

The 1990s called. They want their threads vs events debates back.
Todays processors are fast enough to serve many useful workloads with a single core. The benefit of the async abstraction outweighs the performance benefit in the majority of the cases.
And debugging multithreaded code is way harder than async code, mainly if its the kind of program that needs stepping into.

Welcome to the real world. It’s like this at many places. You have to assume that the director and manager go on family picnics together. At these places you get promoted to manager because the guy above you trusts you and for that reason only. Talent can be hired, trust cannot.
Either learn to adapt or leave and join a firm with top tier culture. Do your homework on that.

Avoid verbal communication. Use email always. This gives them time to regulate their response and something to look back and be embarassed about when they are in better shape mentally.
If you have to communicate verbally, any topic can become contentious. When that happens, say something positive and revisit it later.
When a toddler hits you the best way to react is vocal and exaggerated hurt. Same principle. They will have extraordinary empathy if they see it that way.
Ask them how they are doing often and offer to help. Be on their team.
Praise often.
