this is so wild. skimmed the docs and then just jumped into the game (though I will go back and read in-depth as this has really captured my attention). really well done! this feels like one of those "dawn of a new era" type of things (in this case, in web games).

it's an economic problem, not a technical one, imo.
unfortunately, we no longer live in an economic environment that supports being able to run a stable business that way. if cost of living were still relatively stable/affordable/predictable? sure.
i would love to see everyone go back to this model, but sadly i don't see that happening unless the person offering it is independently wealthy/comfortable by other means.

how do you feel about licensing where you pay once, get the software, and have access to updates for one year?
if you want future updates, you pay for another year of updates (discounted, of course, for loyalty).
or is it more compelling to just have one clean, flat, lifetime rate?

great way to teach your kids about choice and how to make decisions for themselves. enjoyed the author's detail on how he did it. bet his son will never forget this :)

curious what sorts of stuff people are doing to hack themselves, specifically their mind. any tips or tricks you've found that are working for you?
i've just been making little podcasts for myself as a sort of "audio ankii".

yes, but you have to size your expectations accordingly and can't assume that the sv model will work for your 1-2 person business.
