As the main reason for my expatriation out fo a similar system I'd happily stay and pay if the service was good and the providence state was not collapsing.

As it stands its just an extraction machine to the boomer benefit and it wont survive by the time i will need it

It's rational at the individual level, irrational at the group level.

The issue is you can't easily enforce cooperation without some external overarching force (e.g. regulation), especially across competing powers.

Refer to nuclear arms race in general. A specific example on why not to be the only one to cooperate: Ukraine gave up nukes in order to push for group level rationality, gets walked over as an individual. Oversimplifying, but yeah that's the rough point.

A warning: I'm very naive in anything financial.

What happens if the assets collected drop in value as they get repoed? Wouldn't the lender now also be in harms way and in turn have issues financing themselves?

To me the main question is what happens after that..

We all move to frozen open source models running on 2nd hand Oracle/Coreweave GPUs? 10 years before someone dares make another training run?

Culturally, do we all collectively sober up once money dries and hallucination are still here? Pendulum swing, AI consideredharmful moment? How to promote healthy use when cognitive surrender is so engrained in us?

What happens if there's a new GPT2 scale (i.e. not astroturf/mass histeria marketing) breakthrough?

I would be very interested in a version of this that allow recording from both microphone and audio at the same time. Then it could get plugged into WhisperX for diarization..

But even just having anything that's being said recorded would be outstanding
