I've seen many of these types of articles, and usually they are taking about long form reading, meaning books.

Hard to know if this is a good decision or not. It could very well be that they had just built too much bureaucracy into the process and it needed to be stripped down a bit. Or, given the way things work now, it might just be that they couldn't contract with some of their cronies under the new rules.

Most of US defense has absolutely nothing to do with NATO. Look at the current Iran fiasco for example.

The military is just there to enact political aims. The military could leave Iran a radioactive wasteland for that matter.

The reason the trump administration is suing for peace is because the midterms are coming up, and the situation for Republicans looks dire.

It helps keep inflation under control, for one thing. For another, it helps prevent billionaires from wasting even more money on boondoggles.

I want less war. I'm against attacking other countries, but totally in favor of defending yourself if you get attacked. Those aren't contradictory statements.

Quite a bit of my favorite sci fi is written like that. If you stop to try and figure out exactly what every sentence means, you are missing the experience and probably won't finish.
