Almost anything outside physics is not predictable. Anything that involves human behavior is totally not understood, especially if it involves a bunch of humans (economy, sociology...). You could describe it, sure, but that is not the same as understating and modifying at will.

Why not? Human mind has its limits. The complexity of physics is orders of magnitude smaller than biology, let alone any kind of social science. Physics is the exception, not the rule. The rest of sciences are way more messy.

Why couldn't it be unknowable? I am not saying that it is, but it could be. The human brain has its limits and things could me too complex for us to understand enough to be able to modify them at will. We could understand a lot, but not enough to manipulate it with certainty. Biology is not physics.

If Israel is fine with the existence of Palestina, why is it occupying the West Bank with illegal settlements? There is no Hamas in the West Bank, not any threat whatsoever and the policy is ethnic cleansing, as in Gaza. Do you know the current stance of the far-right Israeli government?

"The white, civilized world". There is not such a thing outside the mind of a white-supremacist, which you seem to be by this comments.

If it is to recover what Israel occupied illegally, good. If Palestine did what Israel is doing, that would be bad. What happened in October the 7th was also horrible and condemned. We really need to deescalate the whole situation and stop the violence. Every one of these violent actions (in which Israel is the main perpetrator by far), not only create suffering and deaths in the short term, but makes a possible solution harder and harder.

It's so sad to see this ridiculous argument every time. Israel is the aggressor, the murder and the main threat to the region's peace, not the victim. This, of course, does not mean that Iran is not another threat, but its actions seem like nothing compared to what Israel is doing.

I think even if they agree at first, this can be traumatic anyway. If I remember correctly, I read about Vietnam veterans that killed civilians including children out of anger and then were horribly traumatized. So both things can be true.

Thank you for this nuanced position,. I understand what you're saying totally, as I perceive it like that, too, being non-Jewish.

However, as you stated, the recent acts of Israel's current government are not only horrendous and cruel, but I think are also causing a lot of harm to Israel itself, alienating its allies and creating a permanent state of war that Israel cannot survive on its own. It's idiotic thinking that everything will be fine if the Iranian regime falls. Permanent war is a brittle and dangerous position for everybody involved.

We see hate everywhere to China and Russia every time in way higher levels than to Israel. Is that racist, too? Russia is also embargoed for doing the same things Israel does. Why isn't Israel embargoed? Antisemitism, too?

The US sadly just do the fuck they want, but I think they get a lot of criticism here in Europe at least. The only thing in what Israel is unique about is that it seems there are no consequences for their actions.

Israel would crumble if the EU embargoed it, which it deserves but sadly it's not going to happen. They're getting themselves in a very precarious position, alienating the EU and forcing the US to get into their crazy plans. I think this is not going to end well for Israel in the medium term.
