Hard to see a world without modules as a means of compartmentalization for various reasons. You do have to appreciate the exercise what a world without them looks like / the implications.

You have to wonder if it is over engineering, or a resolution for something they've discovered from shipping so many phones. I wouldn't think of the camera as a security vector, but maybe Apple thinks it is?

The Best Food Review Show Ever went to Egypt for a series and the authorities impounded their video equipment and wouldn't let the team access the equipment until they left Egypt. Sunny, the host, was super frustrated but stated that the default was buying a few iPhones and filming the whole show through those devices.

Is there any way to do performance testing with TLA+? I always had the impression that TLA+ could help you validate the design of what you intend to build, but was less helpful if you wanted to see the performance implications of the design.

As much as folks may be unhappy Adobe is taking over Figma, I'm sure the team over at Figma are elated. It's a successful exit for a much loved company and I'm sure the hard working team that built such a fantastic product are being well rewarded by such a large acquisition.

Likely worth a read for those that found this interesting is Russ Cox's article on dependencies, Our Software Dependency Problem, at https://research.swtch.com/deps. This post is a bit more detailed and balanced in my opinion.

Objective-C is such a small and concise language. It doesn't get in the way of development in quite the same way Swift can delay building out a feature due to bikeshedding.

It's always been incredible to me that Interface Builder dates back to NextStep, like that's all the way back to 1988! While I don't on the regular use IB, I've always appreciated how easy it is to hook things up and move ahead with a prototype.
