It wasn't bypassing, I was just helping start because of what I believe to have been a bearing issue.

I was spinning it in reverse actually, but it would be enough to start the exhaust blower. It would also re-start pretty well for ~6 hours. It was probably the bearing. Also FWIW I have multiple carbon monoxide/air quality monitors and nothing tripped or alarmed.

Yes, here is my prompt. It also contained a video: "I have a furnace that will not heat when I reset the power to this unit. It makes some noise within its fan system for about three or four minutes and then I get an error light. Can you help me figure out what may be wrong here?" This prompt is not the best but I was freezing and in my attic.

My furnace went out during the 2025 holiday and I couldn't get an appointment with a repair person for 2 days. It was getting very cold in my house so I went into my attic and made several videos of the furnace attempting to start and gave it to gemini. It diagnosed the issue immediately and had me spin one of the components (a small exhaust fan) while the furnace tried to fire. It came on immediately. I had to do that several times, but it worked until the HVAC service showed up.

I am looking for a site or a book that has many different examples of user application interfaces. Something like the Dark Patterns site (https://www.deceptive.design/) but for helpful interface design examples. My internet searches are just turning up click-bait "articles" like "Top 5 Amazing bla bla".

I'm developing a web-based desktop app for internal users to view and analyze datapoints on various companies that is stored in our database. Users need to create short and long-form narratives based on predefined questions about the data (e.g., funding rounds, employees, patents, news, sales).
The interface should:
1 Display the stored structured data (in sections)
2 Allow short-form confirmations/fact-checks for specific data points
3 Enable longer narratives referencing multiple data points
4 Use various input types (text areas, fields, tags, selects)
Does anyone know of some examples of any apps with similar functionality so I can check out their UI?

You should take a quick look at EPIC. They dominate the electronic heath record space, and a ton of health systems use it. You will know if your doctor's office uses an EHR application, because they will be typing notes into it for the majority of your visit. I have not been too excited about the amount of time that physicians spend on EHR systems, but I am hopeful that taking the data they input (along with blood work and other test results) will make everything more accurate, fast and effective.

When you feel emotional, wait at least five minutes before acting, especially if you are upset. It is tough to do but waiting to cool off and think before acting has really saved my bacon a couple of times.
