Wow. This is an incredibly insular, and empathy devoid take. The author's binary assumption that introversion and introversion are choices are incredible.

Go and do some research on neurodivergence, and then go and have a think about how harmful this advice is.

The emotional toll that it must have taken on Aditya just to be there without some grinning goon come lolloping towards him telling him just because they can do a thing anyone can do a thing must have been incredible.

If your workloads are fairly static,ECS is fine. Bringing up new containers and nodes takes ages with very little feedback as to what's going on. It's very frustrating when iterating on workloads.

Also fargate is very expensive and inflexible. If you fit the narrow particular use case it's quicker for bringing up workloads, but you pay extra for it.

I find it quite telling that the author quotes the "fundamental attribution error" early in the article, and then spends the rest of the article making textbook examples of exactly that.

Yeah. When you start to really research it you realise it isn't a single disorder, it's a collection of symptoms and behaviours, and everyone's collection is different.

One of my particular adhd symptoms is Oppositional Defiant Disorder https://www.additudemag.com/oppositional-defiant-disorder-in...

In short, if I get to decide when to do something, that's great. If someone asks me to do it, or worse _tells_ me, this kicks in and it takes a huge effort of will to overcome my opposition to it. I've noticed this is also true of 'systems' like calendars.

If you then combine this with my impaired executive function, and difficulty I task switching (to more on the list of symptoms), you get a cocktail of both anxiety and oppositional thought, which results in me doing nothing and internalising the berating that every authority figure in my life gave me because I'm lazy, rather than having a neurodevelopmental disorder.

As a neurodivergent, the idea of scheduling this tightly makes me physically sick. I do need structure, even to the point of "I'm going to veg for two hours", but having it in a calendar entry will make me immediately ignore it.

To lists work really well, but I have to have a (at least) two-tier system. Stuff I'm doing now and a backlog. If all I've got is the backlog, it's too overwhelming

This sounds a lot more like your company culture is the issue than the tool. If you think this sort of thing didn't happen via emails, or even in the office kitchen, you're naive. If you're more interested in broad strokes like banning a tool than addressing acute bad behaviour, you shouldn't be managing people.
