I think this is not actually a curated list, and LLM put the open source part in FAQ, and they didn't catch it before publishing.

OP's account was made an hour ago and comments from it are suspiciously fast (and unnecessarily verbose).
https://news.ycombinator.com/threads?id=echend
This is an obvious scam, I don't know why I wasted this time double checking.
Makes me sad that this it the top HN post. Also got me thinking if the technique is so effective here (among more-than-average-scam aware community), I don't want to imagine the success rate on other social media.

npm audit - will tell you if there's any packages with known vulnerabilities.
https://docs.npmjs.com/cli/v11/commands/npm-audit
I'd imagine it's considerably slower than search, but hopefully more reliable.

Is it a possibility to have some sort of offline database to query against ?
Or maybe that would make the app to heavy. Could be a "opt-in" download.

"Human Behavioral Biology" lecture serise by Robert Sapolsky at Stanford.
As a engineer with huge interest in learning how something works, understanding human brain and behavior, was a logical next step for me.
