Setting my browser up the way I did was a serious PITA and it didn't have to be.

I am still having to use an extension (Sidebery) because Firefox failed to implement vertical tabs half as good. On my MBP, I have two rows of small panel icons to switch between 2 rows of 8 different categories of tabs (16 panels). Below that, I have 3 rows of pinned tabs on each panel (24 pinned tabs). Below that, I can see 24 open tabs without scrolling. That's 48 visible tabs per panel and with a single panel click, I can see a different set of 48 tabs. That makes a total of 768 tabs accessible via a single click. [edit] I should add that I can see 32 characters of the tab title so it is easy to know at a glance what the tab is about. [/edit] Now that is an amazing UI/UX - not some designer pill shaped tabs (that Safari has had for years).

Mozilla: why in the hell do I need to trust some extension builder to give me an amazing UI/UX? Instead of copying Apple's bad decisions - innovate!

p.s. I don't get why in the hell anyone who has more than 10 tabs open at once isn't using vertical tabs? Especially when most monitors have more horizontal pixels than vertical.

I am starting to believe that Apple got rid of any UX talent they had, replaced them with interns and spent the saved $ on marketing.

True story: I know a woman who built a relationship with her tween nephew on the other side of the world mainly by playing Fortnite with him ever week for two years - all for free because she never bought a skin.

I have been thinking that I'd just mount an iPad over the dumb screen, but so many automakers put things like climate control on there. In the end, I am stuck with older cars with CD players that I can stick a phone mount that actually works into...

If it means I don't have to put reading glasses on to use my phone, I'd pay a lot more...

I don't know about Europe, but a drive through most SFH residential areas in the US and you will score more usable furniture than you could ever need (skipping mattresses, fabric couches, etc...). At my last home, I ditched a lot of furniture by leaving it out front and never had to wait more than a day to have it gone. Failing that, there are a plethora of thrift shops with dirt cheap furniture (and other household goods). And if you want something more classy, go to antique shops loaded with cool oak furniture that is out of style so isn't worth much anymore.

Compare that to the obnoxious particle board Ikea crap that is the antithesis of buy it for life (and thus TCO is terrible).

Re forwarding, there is a setting to address that in the same location:

Fastmail > Settings > Filters & Rules > Filters > Spam protection > Advanced settings

"If forwarding email to Fastmail from another service, enter the SMTP host names (not IP addresses) of the forwarding servers. The Received headers of these hosts are parsed to find the true email source. Please contact support if you require assistance with this feature."

Also, I really miss the auto categorization into primary, promotions, social and updates. This is a killer feature!

I'm happy to be rid of the goog's convoluted management console, but wondering why fastmail's spam filters aren't up to snuff...

1. Every chat should have a context used/remaining measurement so you know when you have to ditch the current chat for a fresh one.

2. Every chat should analyze and categorizes each element of context by how useful it is towards the overarching goal of the chat.

3. Every chat has a handoff button with a "usefulness" slider (say 1-5) that shows the total size of the context based on its setting.

4. The handoff automatically creates a new chat with the desired amount of context and a prompt to get it back to where you were.

That said, I am newb and so there is some reason why these non-deterministic LLMs can't do this :-/
