I got an interview scheduled with Meta/Facebook, for monday (14th Feb 2022). Their careers portal has a lot of sample leet codes, I'm not even able to do the level 1 puzzles. Sure going to bomb the interview with live codinng session! Sigh... this would have been a life changer for me

Uh that's a creative way of looking at it. When you increase fuel prices:

1. Daily expense increases for commuters

2. An already weak public transport becomes expensive for commuters

3. Cost of almost everything increases (our logistics are road heavy)

4. Income of individuals are not increasing, so above 3 are going to hurt a lot more

i don't think it's about the grass (which generally they say not to walk or sit on, so as to not cause damage). Colleges/universities are run like schools (our schools are strict, have to wear uniform, mandatory attendance etc. etc.). So the level of freedom mentioned by OP in the U.S College, compared to India, would be 10x different

I for one am happy with the small digital screen. Since I enjoy+prefer round faced analog watches. That coupled with 30 days battery is definitely perfect for me!
