<p>I think I will take another look. I recently helped my grandson with his university C++ assignment. It was a lot better than I remember C++ in the 90s.<p>Fun wise though, I get the most fun with dynamic languages that are highly interactive like Forth, Common Lisp and Smalltalk. I don’t have to drop out of the zone to kick the compiler all the time.</p>

<p>I've been through the rabies protocol after a bite from random homeless dog I tried to help.<p>In the US with insurance it's about $5K out of pocket, and 3 or 4 (can't remember exactly) visits to the ER. the first visit they inject some gelatinous stuff all over the site of the bite site plus the vaccine. And no, they don't inject in your abdominal area anymore. The case will be referred to the city and if possible, the animal will be tested for it. I'm not sure if they have to kill the animal to test. They'll let you know if it was positive though.<p>It's extremely rare to get rabies, but also it's extremely lethal.</p>
