Got it a few years ago. In my 30s as well. God how it used to bother me, i’d have the whitest noises to the point where it depressed how loud it all was, white noise included.
Went to the doctor, did all those rounds. Once I saw the endemic existence of CBT and other psychotherapies as treatment it dawned on me that I might have to reconsider my relationship with this.
In reality I just got used to it and live with it. I have a tiny white noise sound that is always on my headphones while i work that is just enough and that covers me most of the day, but honestly even if I sit in an electric car that is fully stopped and it’s as loud as it’s gonna be, I notice it, absolutely, but it doesn’t really cause distress anymore.

I don’t think that is a an accurate depiction of ClickHouse. I don’t think they’re pivoting from their main data warehousing product at all. Probably making their cloud offering more competitive with other providers.

agree on single instance, but for hetzner, I run 100+ large bare metal servers in hetzner, have for at least 5 years and there’s only been one significant outage they had, we do spread across all their datacenter zones and replicate, so it’s all been manageable. It’s worth it for us, very worth it.

It does read the way you describe in your question. My interpretation of OPs example is more about the asymmetry in how much more (relatively) feasible it is for one party to re-introduce a vote for something than it is to rally political will en masse in a way that reflects what the electorate ultimately wants.
An example that comes to mind is the string of legislation like SOPA that despite having lost, the general goal continued to appear in new bills that were heavily lobbied for.
